Emergency Dentistry at Jindalee Complete Dental

Are you or one of your children experiencing a dental emergency? Painful toothaches can be so excruciating that they prevent you from eating, going to school or heading to work for the day. Fortunately, we’re here to provide same day dentistry that alleviates your discomfort as quickly as possible.

Do I Need to See an Emergency Dentist?

Woman with severe jaw painSome types of dental problems may be emergencies without causing any pain or swelling. Seeing us straightaway will ensure that we can treat the condition before it becomes more severe. If you need a second opinion, we offer consultations so that you can feel better educated about which options are available.

The most common emergencies we see in our practice include:

  • Fractured or Knocked-out Teeth — Sports injuries are some of the most frequent causes of tooth pain. If we see you within the first hour, there’s a better chance that we can save your tooth (and prevent an extraction). Store your tooth fragment in a sealed container with milk or contact solution and bring it straight to our family dentist.
  • Dental Abscesses — Do you see a visible pimple-like sore on the gums next to your tooth? Or does your tooth fell extremely mobile? It’s likely a fistula that’s draining from an abscessed nerve. Tooth abscesses can range from asymptomatic (no pain) to excruciating discomfort.
  • Broken Dental Work — Having a crown fall off, filling break or chipped bridge may prevent you from eating or being able to go out in public. We’ll discuss which options are available to repair or replace the restoration for the best long-term solution.
  • Swollen or Bleeding Gums — Trauma or impacted food can cause isolated areas of inflammation inside of your mouth. A brief exam will determine the underlying cause so that we can get you back on your way the same day.
  • Toothaches — Different types of tooth pain indicate various types of damage. We’ll take an X-ray of your tooth and discuss the circumstances around your toothache to pinpoint the best plan for treatment.
